Day 2 of 7 Days of Scary Movies!

10/25/2017

Good morning, everyone!  I hope you enjoyed my movie suggestions yesterday.

Though after thinking about it I should probably change the title to "7 Days of Scary-ish Movies".

Today's suggestions will be no different...

Movie #1 is...

Nightbreed (1990)

I first saw this movie in high school (I think I was a Sophomore).  I came across it one night while cruising the movie store in my hometown (West Coast Video - to be exact).  I was intrigued by the characters represented on the cover of the movie box.

I spent my money, rented the film, took it home, popped the popcorn and sat down to watch it.

Holy Shit!  Did I watch this movie!  I had originally rented the movie for 5-nights.  Let's just say when I returned the movie 3 days late, I had watched it well into double digits with approximately 15 friends.

Nightbreed is available on Netflix, but it is only available through the mail service.

However, this movie also fed into my avid reader syndrome because at both ends of the movie it informs you it is based on a book.  "Cabal" by Clive Barker is the specific book which is quite easily found online (Ebay, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, etc.) for under $10.  (Such a worthwhile read.)

The next movie is why I think I should change the post title to "Scary-ish".  However it is one those movies as a child that caused me many hours of concern and worry looking at sitting Pomeranians.

Gremlins (1984)

Does this little guy look familiar?  The first person to give me his name I will send a present!

Now we all (who are over the age of 15), have seen this movie, we know the rules and even as children we watched in awe as this dumb ass teenager went ahead and did exactly what he wasn't supposed to do with a potentially dangerous adorable, cuddly, sweet little mogawi (translated from Cantonese as 'monster').  I don't know about you guys, but I would call the little green guy to the left a monster, but I sure as hell would not call Gizmo a monster, at least not an intentional one.

So, if you have kids over 10 and they haven't seen this movie, this is the best time of year to show it to them.  Just watch what they eat after midnight, you may end up with more of them then you could ever hope for.

Happy watching today guys!!

Talk to you tomorrow!!

I have spent quite  a few years writing short stories that never quite fit into the 'normal' genre.  When I came across the different erotica genres I was overjoyed.  I had found my writing family.  I hope that everyone enjoys what I've written.  Please feel free to send me a comment/suggestion good/bad/indifferent.  I appreciate all feedback!  Bright Blessings!
